A hearing for a sexual harassment case in Fushë Kosovë did not start on time on Monday.

The session, which was scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., started 40 minutes late, prompting a reaction from Arianit Koci, the victim’s lawyer.

The explanation given by the presiding judge and supervisor was that they were waiting for the prosecutor, even though the prosecutor was already present in the courtroom along with the victim and her defense attorney.

Koci, who initially voiced his concerns on Facebook, told KosovaPress that he has requested the judicial review to be handled seriously and according to the law, as he said it is a sensitive case.

He also noted that during the wait, the victim was very distressed that she was not properly acknowledged by the higher institution.

“The session started late. At this stage, I request that this judicial review be handled according to the law and with the seriousness required by law. It began after 40 minutes. During this time, my client felt very bad and was very upset,” Koci said.

KosovaPress also sent questions to the Basic Court in Prishtina but has not yet received a response.
