The Kosovo Police has interviewed the owner of a restaurant in Hani i Elezit after several people are suspected of being poisoned following the consumption of food at his business.

According to the police, the case is related to an incident on July 13, while the owner was interviewed on July 15 as a suspect.

With the authorization of the prosecutor, a case has been initiated for the criminal offense of "Production and distribution of harmful food products," while investigations are ongoing.

Around 80 people are suspected of being poisoned after consuming fast food in Hani i Elezit.

The foods suspected of causing the poisoning are pizzas and sandwiches.

On Wednesday, Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Ferizaj region, Kanun Veseli, told KosovaPress that from July 13 to July 15, around 80 people were treated with symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting.
