In the second meeting with the Serbian side in Brussels, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reminded the representatives of Serbia of the need to deal with the past, the stories of raped women and the list of thousands of children killed and missing by Serbian forces during the recent war in Kosovo. The Serbian president refused to accept the three books from the Kosovo prime minister at the meeting, after which Kurti wrote that ignorance of Serbia's criminal past and non-recognition of Kosovo's independence are closely linked. Kurti's approach to this meeting is being assessed as appropriate by those familiar with the dialogue process and those who deal with transitional justice and clarifying the fate of missing persons. Regarding the recent meeting in Brussels, foreign policy expert Arbër Fetahu from the Group for Legal and Political Studies says that Serbia should not be spared from its criminal past, but according to him, Kosovo's access to talks should be always balanced at the request of partners, the United States of America and the European Union.
