After the publication of a news based on the report of the US intelligence services, in the Voice of America, about the Russian infiltration in the politics of some countries, and the financing of politicians in these countries, which includes the financing of 500 thousand dollars for the Democratic Party (DP) in the elections of 2017, DP itself reacted, blaming the former DP chairman Lulzim Basha.

The spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Albania, Floriana Garo, demanded the immediate reopening of the case, which she said had been reported by the party itself, adding that it was closed after Edi Rama's intervention in the judiciary.
