The Vetëvendosje MP, Adnan Rrustemi, says that the Draft law on the state bureau for verification and confiscation of unjustified assets will be approved within this year, with the changes foreseen in the decision of the Constitutional Court.

He said that the rejection of the Draft Law on the Bureau by the Constitutional Court is a blow to the justice reform and the fight against corruption.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Rrustemi accused the opposition and PDK in particular that when they sent this draft law to the Constitutional Court, their initial motive was to protect the unjustifiable wealth of public officials who served during the time they were in power.

Rrustemi accused the Constitutional Court of having deliberately delayed for 16 months the decision-making on the draft law for the bureau.

However, Rrustemi says that the justice reform has not failed and that it should not be localized only to the vetting process, the Prosecutorial Council and the bureau.

In addition, Rrustemi said that the majority will not withdraw from the approval of the Draft Law for the Independent Media Commission, the Prosecutorial Council and the one for public officials, despite the criticism of the international community and civil society.
