'Rotten apple that falls by itself', Rama: I am not the shield of anyone who steals
The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that now no minister or subordinate of the ministry will have access to the procurement of tenders.
Prime Minister Rama said that since April 25, tender procurements are operated by the public company of the operator for concentrated purchases.
Rama added that corruption in Albania today has not been defeated as a disturbing phenomenon, but added that never before has corruption been fought more than in the last ten years.
The Prime Minister spoke at the meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party (SP) about corrupt politicians, including that of the SP. He emphasized that no politician who steals is in office.
Rama emphasized that the policemen who steal should go and be investigated at the Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure (SPAK), while he described them as "rotten apples".
Prime Minister Rama has also responded to the report that the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, made weeks ago in the KLP (The High Council of Prosecution) where he emphasized the decrease in the number of denunciations of corruption cases by state institutions. Rama said that the executive power cannot investigate corruption internally, but it can narrow the spaces for committing this criminal offense in institutions. While he added that the reduction in the number of denunciations is good news in terms of the impact that SPAK's activity has given in terms of preventing corruption cases.
