The candidate for mayor of Prishtina from the ranks of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Përparim Rama, exercised his right to vote today at the Faculty of Economics. He was accompanied by his wife and children.

After voting, Rama said that today is an important day for the citizens of the capital and for Kosovo, emphasizing the democratic maturity that citizens have shown during the electoral process.

He also thanked the media for their professional work during the elections, wishing that the process concludes peacefully and with dignity.

“Earlier today, together with Kristale and the children, I paid respect to the British soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom and peace we enjoy today in the capital and throughout Kosovo. I congratulate all citizens for the maturity and responsibility they have shown during these elections. I wish that the best candidate wins—for development, progress, and a bright future for our capital and our country. At the same time, I thank all of you in the media for the excellent work you have done. May everything go well for all of us… These elections are very important. Today’s elections do not only define the near future of the capital; they also define the future of the entire country. Therefore, it is of great importance that citizens vote in the right direction for our country,” Rama emphasized.

Over 222,000 citizens in Prishtina are eligible to vote. Meanwhile, more than 1,700 citizens outside Kosovo are eligible to vote in the second round of elections.

In Prishtina, the runoff for the local elections is between Përparim Rama of the Democratic League of Kosovo and Hajrulla Çeku of the Vetëvendosje Movement.

Today, the mayoral elections are being held in 18 municipalities across Kosovo.

The total number of eligible voters in these 18 municipalities is 1,316,672.
