The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that regional cooperation is key for the integration of the six countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union.

At the press conference after the EU-Western Balkans Summit, Rama said that with the Growth Plan for the region from the European Union, all regional initiatives, such as the Open Balkans, have already been exposed as loopholes.

He underlined that despite the political problems of the countries of the region, cooperation is needed for the implementation of this EU plan.

According to him, the Growth Plan is an important platform that will accelerate the entry of the Balkan countries into the EU.

In addition, Rama said that millions of euros will be saved from regional cooperation, removing bureaucratic obstacles.
