Inside the Municipality of Prishtina, Mayor Përparim Rama welcomed the well-known singer Armend Rexhepagiqi, honoring him with the symbol of the "Goddess on the Throne."

Mayor Rama, on behalf of the city, thanked him for the mark he has left on Kosovo’s artistic scene.

“If I were to present the art, culture, and spiritual level of Prishtina as a person, it would be you. You are the icon of Prishtina, the icon of the capital city, and a person whom I, as the mayor of the city, sincerely thank on behalf of the citizens for everything you have done and continue to do,” Rama said.

Rexhepagiqi warmly received this recognition, expressing that he does not “know how to accept compliments” very well.

He called on Rama for the Municipality of Prishtina to invest more in the musical and cultural aspects of the municipality.

“More investment in music schools, in various courses, in children, in benefits so that children can have free instruments and various benefits — trips, meals — because among some little ones there is the next Nexhmije, there is a conductor, there is a fantastic violinist,” Rexhepagiqi suggested.

The visit comes a day before Armend Rexhepagiqi will perform in the capital at a concert held at 8:00 PM at the Palace of Youth in Prishtina. /M. Koshi
