The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radoniqi, has just exercised his constitutional right to vote in the early parliamentary elections of December 28.
Radoniqi voted at the “Lidhja e Prizrenit” Primary School and afterward called on citizens to go out and vote.
“I should take this opportunity to invite the citizens of Kosovo to go out and exercise their right to vote in order to choose their representatives of Kosovo. On the part of the CEC, all preparations have been made despite the short time and the numerous preparations and challenges we had; we have managed to ensure that the process starts on time,” he said.
“For assisted voting, every person who needs assistance must present a relevant document proving that they are unable to vote on their own… As for persons who cannot read and write, there are no legal rules; this category was removed in 2023 as a category for assisted voting. As far as the CEC is concerned, we have a standard procedure for these persons as well. These individuals are not denied the right to vote; however, assistance for them cannot be provided behind the voting booth, and their assistance is provided only up to the ballot box,” he said.
In the December 28 elections, the number of citizens with the right to vote at polling stations in Kosovo is 1,999,205, while the number of citizens registered to vote outside Kosovo is 77,085 voters. This list contains 7,192 more voters than in the local elections on October 12, 2025.
