In the Municipality of Shtime, the inaugural session of the Municipal Assembly was held, where the re-elected mayor, Qemajl Aliu, and 21 assembly members took their oaths.
Aliu officially began his second term today as mayor of the Municipality of Shtime, after winning the local elections on October 12, 2025. During the oath-taking ceremony, he said that this day is special because, according to him, citizens have once again confirmed their will for the continuation of good governance focused on concrete results.
“Today is a memorable day because citizens have once again confirmed their will that good governance and the continuation of good work should be a priority. I am happy to emphasize that the promise made in 2021, right here in this hall, is now a reality, and Shtime has become a more developed place, better for work, a higher-quality environment for education, and a healthier place to live. The trust we received in 2021 has turned into concrete work and results. In addition to paying off many debts, we changed the governance mindset, returned governance to the citizens, increased municipal transparency to 100%, and also won local and international awards for excellent local governance,” Aliu said.
During his speech, the mayor announced that the municipality will add 60 new commitments to its work program, which, according to him, fulfill the vision of a fair, just, and developed Shtime.In conclusion, Aliu thanked all citizens for their trust and promised that his governance will continue to be transparent, cooperative, and results-oriented.
The session was chaired by the eldest assembly member, Haqif Arifi.
