"There is no peace without the safety of women" was the nationwide protest march, organized tonight in Prishtina for the condemnation and prohibition of murder and violence against women.

Many citizens have joined the protest called by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action group in "Zahir Pajaziti" square, to continue to the premises of the Kosovo Police and the Government of Kosovo, with banners such as "Justice for Liridona", "Murderers of women in prison", "Men kill women, the state remains silent", "Courts enemies of women".

For the hour and a half that the protest lasted, the gathered citizens chanted, such as "There is no peace without the liberation of women", "Stop with patriarchy", "Freedom, independence, solidarity", "How many lives have been lost?", "None more".

As a sign of anger at the lost lives of women, they threw red paint on the streets, made a call for justice and the punishment of violence and the killing of women, as well as the names of the women victims were mentioned.

During the protest march, the citizens also stopped in front of the Kosovo Police facility, where they threw red paint in front of the police cordon, to continue to "Skanderbeg" square, where they threw smoke gas, and then to be placed in front of the facility of the Government of Kosovo.

The protest ended peacefully and it was escorted all the time by the Kosovo Police, while during the protest in front of the Kosovo Police, traffic was blocked on "Luan Haradinaj" street.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today demanded the maximum sentence for the three suspects arrested for the murder, among whom is the husband of Liridona Ademaj.

He said that the entire justice system should make it a priority to deal with cases of violence against women, stressing that low sentences are encouraging the repetition of crime.

Liridona Ademaj was killed on November 29, on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Prishtina. The case was initially reported by the police as robbery with consequences of murder.

On December 1, the police announced the arrest of three people: Naim Murseli, the victim's husband, suspected of her murder, the shooter Granit Plava, and Kushtrim Kokalla. On December 3, the Basic Court in Prishtina imposed a one-month detention for the three suspects in this case.
