The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today demanded the maximum sentence for the three suspects arrested for the murder, among whom is the husband of Liridona Ademaj. He said that the entire justice system should make it a priority to deal with cases of violence against women, stressing that low sentences are encouraging the repetition of crime.
Liridona Ademaj was killed on November 29, on "Dalip Alshiqi" street in Prishtina. The case was initially reported by the police as robbery with consequences of murder.
On December 1, the police announced the arrest of three people: Naim Murseli, the victim's husband, suspected of her murder, the shooter Granit Plava, and Kushtrim Kokalla. On December 3, the Basic Court in Prishtina imposed a one-month detention for the three suspects in this case.
