From today, a security and emergency department has been added to the Municipality of Pristina. Mayor Pëparim Rama said that the main purpose of this directorate is the protection of citizens.

Rama said in a press conference that local government is essential for the organization of social, political and economic life.

"Local government is essential for the organization of social, political and economic life, as such it is the first contact of citizens with government activities. Community safety is not about crime prevention but also about building strong and inclusive communities, some of the many issues that affect community safety in Kosovo, and especially in the capital, are citizen safety, traffic safety, vulnerable groups, safety aspects for environmental protection, safety of public spaces, safety from stray dogs, safety of students", emphasized Rama.
