Pristina has established a volunteer association for firefighting and rescue, which will help in dealing with natural disasters.

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, said that the "foundations of a new force for the protection of lives and citizens' property are being laid."

"Pristina is continuously growing, and alongside growth come new challenges, from population increase to infrastructure expansion. We need to be on permanent alert, especially in emergency situations. Therefore, I see this association as extremely important and supportive for our Pristina, which will help us face various kinds of disasters, whether they are natural or human-made," emphasized Rama.

Meanwhile, the Director of Security and Emergencies, Lulzim Fushtica, said that this is an important step in strengthening public safety.

He highlighted the importance of broader involvement and cooperation between institutions and citizens.

This association is the first of its kind in Kosovo./Kosovapress
