Kosovo Olympic Committee President Ismet Krasniqi has stated that the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games represent a historic opportunity for the country, emphasizing the major economic and development impact of large-scale sporting events. He made these remarks during the American Investors Conference held in Pristina.
Krasniqi stressed the importance of hosting such events for the country’s development and for strengthening international partnerships.
“Pristina has the potential to become a regional hub for major international sporting events. Such events generate tourism, create jobs, stimulate local businesses, and strengthen international partnerships. The economic impact of major sporting events is proven worldwide — from infrastructure development to attracting long-term investment. In this context, I would like to highlight one of the most important upcoming moments: the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games. The Mediterranean Games represent a historic opportunity for Kosovo and Pristina. They are not only a sporting event — they are a national development project. These Games will accelerate infrastructure development, strengthen institutional cooperation, and create long-term economic benefits for our country,” Krasniqi said.He also spoke about the preparations that have already begun for this major event, emphasizing the broader development vision connected to it.
The 2030 edition will be held in Pristina, marking the first time Kosovo hosts an event of this level. The Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games are expected to include hundreds of athletes from dozens of participating countries, across a wide range of Olympic disciplines.
