Political party leaders to meet Osmani

The meeting of the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, with the leaders of parliamentary parties has begun, following the failure to form a new government.

President Osmani’s invitation was accepted by Vetëvendosje (LVV) leader Albin Kurti, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) leader Memli Krasniqi, Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Lumir Abdixhiku, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) leader Ramush Haradinaj, Nisma leader Fatmir Limaj, as well as leaders of non-Serb community parties.

In this meeting, President Osmani is expected to ask whether any party holds a parliamentary majority to form the new government or if the country will head toward early elections.

LVV leader Albin Kurti, who came first in the February 9 elections, failed last week to form a government, receiving only 56 votes out of the 61 needed in the Kosovo Assembly.
