At the Basic Court in Pristina, police officer Astrit Hama testified as a witness in the terrorist attack case involving the Ibër-Lepenc canal, describing how he arrested one of the defendants, Jovan Vicentijevic.

Asked by Special Prosecution prosecutor Besim Kodraliu where he was on December 1, 2024, Hama said he had stopped a vehicle with Serbian license plates, in which one of the three people had no documents and was wearing a uniform and military boots.

The man introduced himself as Zoran, but after his arrest it was established that he was Jovan Vicentijevic.

“Because of the incident that had occurred three days earlier, I went on patrol in an armored vehicle. During the patrol, near the Jesenovik Substation in Jabuka, on the left side there is a paved road leading to the village of Prevllak. When you reach the main road, the canal explosion site is on the right-hand side. We saw a white vehicle and decided to stop it. There were two people, and we stopped them. The vehicle had Leskovac license plates. The two people had Serbian documents, while the third person had no documents. We asked for his identification. He said he was from a nearby village, and that these people had come to pick him up and take him to Zubin Potok. When I turned on my flashlight, I noticed that he was wearing a kind of brown-colored uniform and military boots. I decided to take him out of the vehicle, brought him over to our vehicle and asked him to show what he had in his pockets. He had two smartphones and a Land Rover phone, which seemed strange to me. He was also wearing a uniform. I asked him what he did for a living, and he had an envelope containing 2,000 dinars in his jacket. He introduced himself as Zoran. There was nothing else. He remained calm. I verified the other two people, and everything was in order. They were not wanted. Regarding the person in question, Zoran, I called the station and requested assistance. They arrived, I explained the circumstances, and we decided to escort him to the nearest police station in Zubin Potok. The person got into a vehicle with the commander, while we ordered the other two people to follow that vehicle, and I followed behind them,” he said.

Asked by prosecutor Kodraliu whether it was true that the man had told him he was unemployed but received a salary from Serbia, police witness Hama nodded in confirmation.

The defense attorneys for the three defendants had no questions for the witness.

The next hearings were scheduled for September 29 and October 19 at 9:30 a.m.

According to the Special Prosecution's indictment, on November 29, 2024, in the village of Varagë, Municipality of Zubin Potok, at a section of the Ibër-Lepenc canal, defendants Vicentijevic, together with several other unidentified individuals, allegedly placed around 20 kilograms of Trinitrotoluene (TNT) explosives inside the canal following a prior agreement.
