Pjetër Shala requests that the witnesses be heard in public sessions

The defense lawyer of Pjetër Shala, Jean-Louis Gilissen, has requested that the hearings in this court process be as public as possible. According to him, a trial must be public in order to be fair, but not excluding security precautions for the identification data of witnesses.

At the beginning of the session, Gilissen spoke about Shala's decision not to physically participate in the courtroom, and according to him, this is happening because most of the evidence is being closed to the public.

According to him, on Tuesday, Pjetër Shala contacted some of his relatives in Belgium who said that they do not understand anything of what is happening in the courtroom, because the testimony is being heard in a private session...
