Both members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), who since last night have been monitoring the process at the counting center in Mitrovica, have said that the integrity of the elections has been compromised. After PDK submits its complaint, they will await the decision of the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP).
Arianit Elshani – member of the CEC from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, told the media in Mitrovica that after receiving information that ballot papers were found moved from one classroom to another and from one school to another, they came during the night, and what they saw was very concerning.
He also commented on the prosecution’s decision to restart the recount.
“We have not officially received that communication, and once we do, all PDK bodies will review it and take further steps — whether to participate in the counting team at the Municipal Counting Center. What we know is that yesterday the counting teams left the MCC because they did not want to sign the form and did not want to legitimize a process they doubted. Everyone doubts what we have seen through the video recordings,” he said. The interrupted counting process is set to resume today at 16:00.
