The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that the killing of Liridona Ademaj should be an awakening of our collective conscience. She underlined the need for the justice system in Kosovo to toughen punishments for violators of women.

Osmani, at the conference on Information Integrity organized by NDI, said that the non-normalization of violence must be fought with determination.

In addition, Osmani had a request to the justice system, until he said that there are some shortcomings in the way the issue of gender-based violence is addressed.

Participating in this conference was the American ambassador in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, who said that the murder of Ademaj shows how urgent it is to work on addressing femicide.
