The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, today met with the delegation of the Global Network of Victims and Survivors of Sexual Violence of War from Ukraine and Colombia.

On this occasion, she emphasized that the newest history of Kosovo carries the sad story of more than 20 thousand women who were raped during the 1999 war by the genocidal regime of Serbia.

Osmani mentioned the courage of the former MP Vasfije Krasniqi, who three years ago testified in the American Congress about the violations committed by the Serbian genocidal forces, demanding justice. Osmani emphasized that the freedom gained is not complete without justice for the victims and punishment for the perpetrators.

She has informed the delegation from Ukraine and Colombia that with her proposal, April 14 in Kosovo is marked as the day of survivors of sexual violence during the war, reconfirming that as president of the country she will be the voice of these women every day.
