Only 1200 businesses applied to TAK to subsidize the salary increase for workers

Only 1,212 businesses have so far applied to the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) for the state to subsidize the 50 percent of the salary increase for private sector workers for the first 3 months. These businesses have requested support for salary increases for about 15,000 workers.

According to TAK, there are about 100,000 active businesses in Kosovo and over 300,000 declared employees, of which 220,000 are in the private sector alone. This means that only 1 percent of businesses have applied for this measure from the support package. Although, this package was not seen as very attractive by the experts, asking for unconditional support even for private sector workers, the same as was done with the workers of the public sector.

The general director of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK), Ilir Murtezaj, has called on businesses in the country to use this measure, which originates from the last package to deal with inflation...
