Nine workers have died at their workplace in four months in Kosovo. Even in cases where workers are injured, the head of the Independent Union of the Private Sector, Jusuf Azemi, says that no one supports them. According to him, in Kosovo the dangerousness at work is four times greater than in the west. He considers that working conditions have not changed, nor have wages increased, despite drastic price increases. Azemi says that Kosovo has no reason to celebrate May 1, the International Workers' Day.

Many job vaccancies are open, but Azemi emphasizes that citizens do not want to work because of low wages.
