The ruling party, Vetëvendosje, has not made any official proposal for the country’s president, said LDK spokesperson Besian Mustafa.
After the meeting of the LDK Parliamentary Group, speaking about today’s meeting between Lumir Abdixhiku and Albin Kurti, he said that new elections are avoidable.
According to him, the Prime Minister and Vetëvendosje leader, Albin Kurti, has not presented any official candidate for president to Abdixhiku, despite reports during the day that Glauk Konjufca’s name had been proposed.“The joint position and opinion is that elections are avoidable at this stage of our Republic. LDK, as we have expressed before, is ready to contribute to the election of the president in two ways. First, a candidate who comes as a consensus from all political parties, and second, a classic political agreement between two parties, in this case the government and LDK,” he said.
On the other hand, Mustafa emphasized that their parliamentary group is united and that they will act as such in the session for the president.
“The LDK Parliamentary Group is unique and united and has a joint position. Just as we decide together, the fifteen members will act accordingly,” Mustafa concluded.
In addition, Mustafa said that there may be further meetings in the future regarding the president.
