Spending almost 100 percent of the budget, the approval of the Municipal Development Plan 2023-2031, the beginning of the construction of the central square, homes for the elderly, the construction and adjustment of the beds of problematic streams and rivers, are considered among the greatest successes achieved in Municipality of Rahovec during this year.

This is what the mayor of the Municipality of Rahovec, Smajl Latifi, said in a press conference in which he presented the one-year work, achievements and challenges of this municipality.

Latifi said that during this year, the Municipality of Rahovec has shown high performance, while he considered as a high achievement the expenditure of 99.56 percent of the municipal budget, not including the budget for this month's salaries.

He described as good news the fact that the Report of the National Audit Office has come out with an unmodified opinion for this municipality, for which he said that the municipality is governed on the basis of the law and in a democratic manner.

While talking about the one-year work, Latifi said that they have started with the construction of the complex and highly functional project, which is the Center for Culture, Arts, Youth and Innovation.

Another important project, Latifi highlighted the construction of housing for the elderly.

He emphasized that the construction of the central square is among the most complex and important projects in the history of urbanism in the municipality of Rahovec.

In addition to these, during the conference Latifi said that there have been internal and external renovations in the Directorate for Health. He added that this year the Directorate for Health and Social Care has won two grants, as a result of free services for senior citizens, children from zero to three years old, pregnant women, and other people in need.

Also, the mayor of this municipality said that the construction, preparation, training and functionalization of the industrial park above Opterushë are continuing, for which he hopes that in the future it will be done in co-financing with the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MIET).

Among other things, the mayor of the Municipality of Rahovec, Smajl Latifi, also spoke about the challenges that the residents of this municipality are facing. He said that recently there have been difficulties with the supply of electricity due to overload, for which he said that as a result of this, the problems with the lack of drinking water continue.

Latifi added that they also have difficulties with economic operators, for which he said that they have terminated their contracts with some of them, while some others are making efforts to remobilize in order to carry out the work according to their contracts.
