She made these statements during a hearing at the Court of Appeal reviewing the appeal against the ruling of the Basic Court in Prishtina in the case against Milosh Pleskoviq, who is accused of war crimes in the Prizren area.
“We demand a life sentence,” Mihrije said briefly.
“Considering that we are dealing with the killing of Albanian civilians, and given that the experiences and suffering were once again relived during the hearing, we believe that the sentence imposed by the court of first instance is too lenient, as the law provides for sentences of up to 20 years for these criminal offenses. Therefore, we request that the Court of Appeal, taking into account these circumstances and facts, impose the maximum sentence on the accused. Consequently, I propose to the panel of the Special Department for War Crimes to reject the defense counsel’s request, as such a request is unfounded,” he said.
