Mortal remains of three missing persons identified after 27 years

The Government Commission on Missing Persons has announced that the mortal remains (bones) of three war victims, who were listed on the Missing Persons List, have been identified.

They are Bali Pajazit Gashi, Fadil Shaban Elezaj, and Masar Ymer Dushi, who were recently identified through scientific DNA analysis.

According to the announcement, their mortal remains were exhumed from the mass grave in Bishtazhin, while the reburial will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Klinë, in accordance with the families’ request.

The reburial ceremony is organized by the Municipality of Klinë, with the support of the Government Commission on Missing Persons.

Ceremony agenda:
11:30 – 12:30 – Homage at the House of Culture “Jehona e Dukagjinit”, Klinë.
13:00 – Memorial Academy at the House of Culture “Jehona e Dukagjinit”, and from 14:00 – Reburial at the Martyrs’ Cemetery, Kodra e Kuqe – Zajm, Klinë.

The Government Commission on Missing Persons has expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to clarify the fate and whereabouts of all persons forcibly disappeared during the war in Kosovo.
