More than 80 women and children were sheltered this year at the Protection Center in Prishtina

The colorful, multi-room facility brings together women and children who share their pain. Their house is improvised there, because they left their home to find shelter after the violence. Over 80 people have stayed this year at the Center for the Protection of Women and Children in Prishtina, whose address is not made public due to the safety of the victims.

The reintegration of these victims and the non-sustainable budget, according to director Zana Hamiti, continue to remain a challenge for the provision of services. In an interview for KosovaPress, she says that there are many cases of victims who come for the third or fourth time.

Hamiti emphasizes that the capacities for sheltering the victims are for 20 people but that this figure may be exceeded. However, she adds that in such cases they make modifications within the space of the center...
