Mediterranean Games Prishtina 2030 logo to be unveiled soon
The President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC), Ismet Krasniqi, has announced that the official logo of the Mediterranean Games Prishtina 2030 is in the final stage of approval after the remarks made by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (ICMG) were addressed.
Speaking on the SportCast programme, Krasniqi explained that every important decision related to the organization of the Games must receive approval from the ICMG, as the owner of the event.
“You may have heard that a logo has been approved. There were some changes requested by the ICMG, by the ICMG experts, because every decision made by Kosovo’s Organizing Committee for the Mediterranean Games Prishtina 2030 must be approved by the ICMG. This is the rule. You cannot make any decision without final approval from the ICMG, the owner of the Games, because the owner of the Games is always the ICMG. We are only the organizers. We sent the logo, there were some remarks which have been improved over time, and I believe that very soon we will officially present the logo that will represent the Mediterranean Games Prishtina 2030,” Krasniqi said.
He also spoke about the upcoming ICMG meeting that will be held in Taranto during the 2026 Mediterranean Games, where Kosovo’s delegation will report on the progress of preparations for hosting the 2030 edition.
“We have the next meeting in Taranto, and there we will certainly discuss the Mediterranean Games. We will present the achievements made up to that moment, until August-September, when the Games will take place. The Games begin on August 21 and end on September 3. During that period, we will be there, we will participate in the assembly, and naturally, achievements will also be discussed there. We will present what will have been completed by that time. You know that the new law on the Mediterranean Games has now been approved by the Government of Kosovo. The board is new, headed by the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, as the chair of the organizing committee. There are 13 members in total on this board, and I hope that the first board meeting will be held very soon and that we will start working. There is nothing more to wait for; now we simply have to act,” Krasniqi added.
Krasniqi acknowledged that, despite his optimism, he feels a great responsibility for the realization of this historic project for Kosovo, while also expressing concern that the country could lose the right to host the Games if it fails to meet its obligations.
According to him, with the approval of the special law, the establishment of the Organizing Board, and the start of its work, Kosovo has entered the decisive phase of preparations for the Mediterranean Games Prishtina 2030, considered the largest multi-sport event ever to be organized in the country.
