Kosovo continues to have a disordered pharmaceutical market while citizens continue to buy drugs at the most expensive prices in the region, due to the lack of legal infrastructure. The Ministry of Health intends to approve the Law on the regulation of the price of medicinal products this year in the Assembly of Kosovo, as currently according to them the law is in the final stage of drafting. Kosovo Chamber of Pharmacists urgently requests the approval of this law in order to regulate the pharmaceutical market, while the Ministry of Health, in a response to KosovaPress, has announced that the law is intended to apply to retailers and wholesalers of medicinal products, by the representative of the marketing authorization holder, the marketing authorization holder and public institutions. It is also foreseen that the prices of medicinal products will be determined based on the methodology of external reference prices.
