The renovation and replacement of the grass in the field of the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium will not start until the spring of 2024. This is what the deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Daulina Osmani, told KosovaPress.

At the end of November, the Football Federation of Kosovo issued an announcement that this stadium will be closed for all sports activities as its grass has been largely damaged due to the large number of international matches held there.

FFK also announced that an agreement has been reached with MCYS for changing the grass in this stadium, an agreement which Osmani has already confirmed. According to her, the communication between MCYS and FFK on this issue has been since the summer months, but the busy calendar of matches did not allow space for such interventions.

She added that a group of experts is continuing to do an in-depth analysis to understand if the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium can be renovated and expanded, but that the first results from this analysis show that this intervention will not be possible due to the age of the stadium structure.

Moreover, the "Fadil Vokrri" stadium is the only one in Kosovo that has a UEFA license for the development of international matches, and this has caused it to be overloaded and unable to cope with such a calendar.
