Excavations have begun in the village of Kalludër e Vogël in Zubin Potok at a location suspected of containing a mass grave from the last war in Kosovo, KosovaPress reports.

Teams from the Kosovo Police and the Institute of Forensic Medicine have been deployed at the site, while EULEX police officers are also participating in the operation, providing security support during the examinations.

Under strict security measures, a team of anthropologists entered the site where excavations and forensic examinations are being carried out.

Sources told KosovaPress that human remains and clothing have been found at the suspected site. According to the same sources, there are suspicions that the remains may belong to intellectuals from Mitrovica who went missing on April 19, 1999.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police arrested two people suspected of being linked to the case on Monday.
