Manja for the murder of Liridona: Naimi does not deserve to be called Albanian
The Minister of Justice of Albania, Ulsi Manja, declares that meritorious punishment is the best answer for the murder of Liridona Ademaj. According to him, the murder of the young woman from Prishtina is the first case of a crime of such proportions in the countries of the region. Manja in the interview for KosovaPress while commenting on the staging of the murder by her husband, Naim Murseli, considers that he does not deserve to be called Albanian. He also talks about cases of gender-based violence in Albania and the measures they are taking to prevent such cases.
The Minister of Justice of Albania has consoled the family and
relatives of Liridona Ademaj, who was killed last week in Prishtina.
Further, it adds that only 16 days of activism against gender-based
violence is not enough to address these problems.
Minister Ulsi Manja says that during this year, judicial authorities in
Albania have issued over two thousand protection orders for women and girls.
He declares that the role of the institutions in fighting these cases
is irreplaceable, where he shows the steps they are taking to address these
issues.
Last week, 30-year-old Liridona Ademaj was killed on "Dalip
Alshiqi" street. The Kosovo police had reported the case as "robbery
with consequences of murder", and two days later, the police had announced
the arrest of three suspects in the case.
One of them was the husband of the now-deceased Liridona, Naim Murseli,
while the other identified was Granit Plava - suspected of carrying out the
murder “by order".
Granit Plava, who is also a fellow villager with
Naim Murseli, is suspected of having been paid 30.000 euros by Murseli for committing
the murder, of which he had received 15.000 euros before committing the murder,
and another 15.000 he would receive after the murder of Liridona. The police
also arrested a third person as a suspect for the murder of Liridona Ademaj,
who is Kushtrim Kokalla - a member of the Kosovo Security Force.
