"What happened to these people did not happen to them because of their special names or individual characteristics, but because they were Albanians and wanted to live in their free land." This is what the Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, said after the tributes at the "Heroines" memorial on the occasion of the Memorial Day of the 25th anniversary of the survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo.

Kurti, who called for justice, said that all the victims of the war have paid a high price, physical, psychological and emotional for our state and freedom.

Whereas, the survivor of sexual violence during the war, Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, who said that she is proud of the country we have, expressed that on this day, 25 years ago, it was a very terrible day for her, but that her scars were what make her strong today.

Even Shyhrete Tahiri-Sylejmani left an emotional message for the people of Kosovo, saying "please don't forget us!".

The Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, the Minister of the Interior, Xhelal Sveçla, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, and MPs of the Vetëvendosje Movement also paid tribute to the "Heroines" memorial.
