Kuka "can’t get enough" trophies in judo, he also seeks medals in the Olympics
As it has already become common, the year 2023 was also a culmination for the sport of judo, which brought Kosovo successive elite medals, but the goals of coach Driton Kuka are ever greater.
In an interview for KosovaPress, he considers that the year 2023 was the continuation of the culminating results in the sport of judo, something that has been happening for 11 years in a row.
The culmination of positive results last year was reached at the European judo championship in Prishtina, where Akil Gjakova grabbed the gold medal. Coach Kuka says that there was a wonderful performance of Kosovo's judokas.
Further, Kuka reveals that the president of the European Judo Federation has expressed readiness to entrust Kosovo with the organization of this event for the next two years.
In addition to Akil, Dardan Cena also won a medal at the European Judo Championship, who won the bronze. According to Kuka, Cena was the biggest surprise of this championship.
He also commented on Akil Gjakova's message "Kosova is here" deciphering the intention he wanted to express for himself.
But, beyond these successes, Kuka says that he has asked the judokas to stay "with their feet on the ground", because he expects a medal even at the "Paris 2024" Olympic Games.
