Kosovo is still facing fires. According to the Ministry of Interior, there are 9 active hotbeds where the worst situation is at the Accursed mountains national park due to strong winds. The Kosovo Security Force is providing military support to civilian authorities in extinguishing fires. With 100 members on the ground to intervene, Chief of Operations Ejup Maqedonci says that they are all the time near the fires with the main focus on saving the lives of citizens. In an interview for KosovaPress, Maqedonci says that the KSF has been engaged in firefighting operations since July 30, where he adds that the largest fire continues to be in the village of Shtupeq in Rugova.
