The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, stated that he refused to meet with Vetëvendosje chairman, Albin Kurti, to discuss the election of Nenad Rashiq as deputy speaker of the Assembly from the Serb community.

He said that the purpose of Albin Kurti and Vetëvendosje is to deepen the crisis.

“For two days we asked for a 10-minute consultation to tell them to propose someone whom no one would be ashamed of, because first and foremost they should feel ashamed, as it is their candidate, not ours. Nevertheless, the purpose of Albin Kurti and Vetëvendosje is the continuation and deepening of the crisis, as I have said in my previous statements. I refused to meet Mr. Kurti despite his request that we meet and discuss the election of Nenad Rashiq. For me, it is very strange — they arrogantly refused a 10-minute meeting to elect an Assembly speaker who would be worthy and not a controversial and problematic figure like Dimal Basha, about whom some things we already knew and many others we did not, as later revealed in the article,” he said. /B.
