The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) announced that, in accordance with the Annual Energy Balance (AEB), it has begun the implementation of the 30-day regular annual overhaul of unit B2 at the Kosova B Thermal Power Plant.

According to the announcement, this process is part of the regular operational planning and aims at technical maintenance, increasing operational safety, and ensuring the stable functioning of the unit.

“Meanwhile, as previously announced, unit B1 of the Kosova B TPP has been undergoing major modernization projects, including the construction of electrofilters and the DeNOx system, which started in April and are expected to be completed in early December,” the statement says.

It further states that after the completion of these investments, operational safety is expected to increase significantly, the lifespan of the unit to be extended by around 20 years, and above all, to ensure compliance with the highest European Union standards in the field of environmental protection.
