The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora informed that today the Committee of Ministers with more than 2/3 of the votes of the member states decided in favor of completing the first stage of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, passing the request for membership to the Parliamentary Assembly "PACE".

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this positive decision comes after a long intensive work, internal inter-institutional coordination and close cooperation with the member states of the Council of Europe and other allies.

As the next step, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will prepare an opinion regarding Kosovo's membership. After that, the opinion will be sent to the Committee of Ministers, which then takes the final decision on membership.
