While the countries of the region, especially Albania, is making a name for itself and has become a favorite place for tourists from all over the world, Kosovo remains far from being compared to these countries.

Albania and other countries in the region have not stopped investing in the promotion of tourism, where the world media write almost every day, while our country is nowhere to be seen, despite the fact that it has potential for mountain tourism, many monuments of cultural heritage, but also potential for health tourism.

The prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, promotes tourism almost every day. However, only the president, Vjosa Osmani, who had announced visits to all municipalities, trying to promote tourism, is rarely seen here, but she often interrupted those visits.

The chairman of the Tourism Union, Baki Hoti, says that the road infrastructure must be developed, as it is negatively affecting tourists.

Hoti told KosovaPress that the union has appealed to the institutions to subsidize tourist agencies and airlines in order to achieve a steady flow of tourists.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, in a written response, said that they have drawn up the strategy for tourism and the action plan, which were approved on July 10 by the Government.

This ministry has clarified that through these two documents it is intended that Kosovo, by 2030, will be transformed into a sustainable tourist destination and a competitor in the Western Balkans.

"We, as the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, have drawn up the Strategy for Tourism and the Action Plan, which was approved by the Government on 10.07.2024, through which we aim for Kosovo to become a sustainable and competitive tourist destination by 2030 in the Western Balkans. Regional and international cooperations are of particular importance in the field of tourism, that is why we have reached cooperation agreements in the field of tourism with different countries such as Albania, Macedonia, Croatia, Japan and recently also with Israel while within the framework of economic cooperation agreements, where tourism is one of the areas of cooperation, there are also agreements with other countries such as Slovenia, Hungary and the United Arab Emirates, and also during the year 2024 we aim for new agreements", answered MIET.

A visitor from China, Denise Viktoria, who has been working in Kosovo for a year now, expresses her satisfaction with the people, describing the citizens of Kosovo as social.

Otherwise, the Kosovo Agency of Statistics has reported that as far as foreign visitors are concerned compared to the previous period (May 2023) there is an increase in visitors by 19.6%, since there are a total of 31,268 foreign visitors, of which the largest number is from Albania, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, etc.
