Kosovo with 349 active cases of COVID-19, of which 9 of the Omicron variant

The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo reports that there are 349 active cases of COVID-19 and 9 of them of the Omicron variant, which in Kosovo is expected to aggravate the epidemiological situation. From the Department of Microbiology of NIPHK say that 22 positive samples were tested for SARS-CoV-2, during the period 15-25 December. Of these samples, nine of them tested positive for the Omicron variant (B.1.1.529). From the epidemiological research, it has resulted that out of these cases, 2 cases are from the USA, 2 cases are from London, the United Kingdom, 1 case is from France and 4 cases are in the municipality of Mitrovica.
