The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning today presented the Waste Package, aimed at improving the situation in the waste management sector in Kosovo.

Calling this sector the most critical point in the entire institutional system in Kosovo, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the government has allocated 1 million euros for this package.

Meanwhile, acting Minister of Environment Fitore Pacolli-Dalipi stated that the accumulation of waste in the capital and other cities of Kosovo will no longer be tolerated, calling for greater institutional responsibility in this regard.

She also announced that the package foresees rewarding and penalizing municipalities that fail to perform their duties, including allocating funds to those that meet their obligations or cutting budgets for those that fail in waste management.
