Minister of Youth and Sports Blerim Gashani has stated that institutions are dealing with concerns over possible misuse of tickets for the national team match, emphasizing that it is still unclear whether this is a widespread phenomenon or isolated cases.

In the Sportcast program of KosovaPress, Gashani said that interest in the match has been very high since the beginning of this qualifying cycle, while acknowledging that concerns about possible abuses have been reported and are being handled by the relevant institutions.

He said that during a visit to the national team and the supporters’ group Dardanët, these concerns were also raised by representatives of the Football Federation and the fans. According to him, the Prime Minister was also present at this meeting and promised to immediately inform the Minister of Internal Affairs about the issue, requesting intensive engagement from security agencies.

“Of course, interest is very high, it has been high from the beginning of this cycle. I have heard concerns and information that there may be abuses. Our institutions are dealing with this, and we still do not know whether this is being exaggerated through social networks or whether it is actually happening at the scale being presented… Last night when we visited our national team and the fans Dardanët with their leadership, as well as from the Federation, this concern was raised, while I was with the Prime Minister and he promised that he would immediately inform the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Minister of Internal Affairs should deal intensively with the relevant security agencies. As I said again, we still do not know exactly because the institutions are working, and we have not yet understood whether this is as alarming as it is being presented on some social networks or whether these are isolated cases that unfortunately can and do happen. For us, it is important that this does not become a phenomenon, and we will also consider other forms of prevention,” Gashani emphasized.

Gashani stressed that there is currently no accurate assessment of whether the situation is as alarming as presented on social networks or whether it consists of isolated cases. He underlined that it is important for institutions that such occurrences do not turn into a broader phenomenon and announced that other preventive measures will also be considered in the future.
