The Kosovo Police, through its Directorate for the Investigation of Human Trafficking, carried out the operational plan "Joint Action Days (JAD) Global Chain 2026 – June 2026" from June 8 to 12, 2026.

According to the police, the operation was coordinated with Europol, Interpol, Frontex, and other agencies. Activities included inspections on streets, public squares, shopping centres, live music venues, massage centres, and escort services to identify potential victims of human trafficking.

The operation involved support units from the Kosovo Police, as well as inspectors from the Central Market Inspectorate under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MINT), the Labour Inspectorate, the Kosovo Tax Administration, and officials from the Centres for Social Work.

During the operation, police inspected 59 live music venues across Kosovo, where 426 people were identified, including 317 women and 109 men. Of these, 186 were Kosovo citizens and 234 were foreign nationals, including 220 Albanian women, nine Serbian women, four women from North Macedonia, and one Bulgarian woman. Six of the venues were already closed, while nine others were shut down due to administrative violations.

Police also inspected 62 massage centres, identifying 104 people, including 89 women and 15 men. Among them, 60 were Kosovo citizens and 45 were foreign nationals, including 23 Albanian women, 17 Thai women, three Filipino women, and one woman from Malawi. Ten massage centres were closed for administrative violations.

According to the police, no cases of human trafficking were identified during the operation.

In a separate operation targeting begging, police arrested seven women—four Albanian citizens, one Montenegrin citizen, and two Kosovo citizens—who were found on the streets with their children. Following cooperation with the Centres for Social Work, 13 children were referred for protection, while criminal cases were initiated on suspicion of child abuse or child abandonment.

Police also recorded four prostitution-related misdemeanour cases involving escort services, resulting in the arrest of eight people—four Kosovo men and four women, including two Brazilian and two Colombian nationals.

The police added that all women found working in live music venues, massage centres, and escort services were given the opportunity to declare whether they had been victims of any form of exploitation or human trafficking. No such cases were identified, the statement said.
