Not appointing to leadership positions is being seen as a practice that the ruling party is using to have easier control in institutions, but also for the "comfort" of fellow party members.
The Chief State Prosecutor, the public enterprise "Trepça", the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), the Tax Administration of Kosovo, the Kosovo Agency of Statistics , the Emergency Management Agency, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, and many other agencies and public enterprises are being led by acting officials.
The MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Rashit Qalaj, told KosovaPress, that the executive has damaged the institutions of Kosovo by letting them be led by acting officials.According to Qalaj, this government should also have an acting government as soon as possible.
Another opposition MP from the ranks of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, says that the Kurti Government is leaving the key positions of the institutions with acting officials in order to interfere politically in their work. The director of the Kosovo Law Institute (KLI), Ehat Miftaraj, has the same opinion, who underlined that this government is continuing the legacy of the previous governments in terms of the positions that are exercised by acting officials.Miftaraj said that this practice is being used with the aim of easier control by the executive towards these enterprises and state agencies.
The exercise of leadership positions with acting officials is also being criticized by economy experts. It is considered that as a result of this policy, successes are also missing, especially in public enterprises.
The analyst of economic issues, Adem Qorolli emphasized that the country's institutions are using their political power as a springboard in the board system. Qorolli has advised that politicians should give up political appointments as soon as possible, especially in the country's economic enterprises.
