The Assembly of Kosovo has approved four international agreements. During today’s session, lawmakers gave the green light to the free trade agreement between Kosovo and the EFTA states — Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein — as well as Protocols 5, 6, and 7 on accession and amendment to the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA), KosovaPress reports.

Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Mimoza Kusari-Lila said that the free trade agreement with the EFTA states will enable the elimination of customs tariffs for most industrial products.

“The free trade agreement represents an important instrument of Kosovo’s trade policy and contributes to deepening economic integration with the markets of European countries that have high purchasing power and advanced regulatory standards. This agreement includes various areas in which the parties have agreed to deepen cooperation and progressively liberalize trade in goods through the elimination of customs tariffs for most industrial products,” she said.
