Kosovars will not be able to travel to Spain even after visa liberalization

Although Kosovar citizens can travel freely in the Schengen zone from January 1 of next year, this will not apply to trips to Spain. This has also been confirmed by the European Commission, which has said that the Spanish state does not recognize the documents of the Republic of Kosovo.

The spokesperson of the European Commission, Christian Wigand, stated today (Friday) that the liberalization of visas for Kosovar citizens will enable them to travel freely to all countries except one, meaning Spain.

"Among the Schengen countries, all but one have recognized Kosovo's travel documents. This means that visa liberalization will allow Kosovo passport holders to travel freely to all but one Schengen country…. So you can imagine what could happen if you get to the Spanish airport", he said
