US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Kosnett on World Press Freedom Day said that a vibrant, free press - one that informs the public, empowers diverse voices and holds officials accountable - is an essential component in any sustainable democracy. Kosnett wrote that journalists deserve our respect and protection. "Threats and attacks against them are attacks against democracy itself," he wrote.
