From September, Kosovo is free to apply for membership in international organizations, where it deems in the interest of the state. This is what the director of the Kosovo Diplomatic Academy, Sabri Kiçmari, says, adding that such actions should be taken in accordance with the United States of America and Kosovo's friendly countries that are part of the European Union. In an interview for KosovaPress, former Ambassador Kiçmari talks about Kosovo's challenges in foreign policy, and the priorities he has while leading the academy.

With the Washington agreement, signed on September 4, 2020, Kosovo had agreed not to apply for membership in international organizations for one year. This commitment was made in order for Serbia to stop its campaign against the recognition of Kosovo by various states.
