Kelmendi: Last year we had over 52,000 cases and confiscated over 111 million euros in assets
The Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, in his speech at the annual conference, although he mentioned that the year 2023 was full of challenges, informed that the State Prosecutor's Institution had 52 thousand 93 cases.
Kelmendi stated that the judicial and prosecutorial power is unique and unstoppable in protecting the values and principles of justice in the Republic of Kosovo. He emphasized that the prosecutor's office in 2023 was successful in its work since last year there were 41,973 criminal cases.
He also said based on international reports, Kosovo has made significant progress in the field of rule of law.
Speaking about the successes in the field of freezing, seizing and confiscating assets. Kelmendi said the prosecution has frozen, seized and confiscated assets worth over 111 million euros during 2023.
